Tennis on Fuerteventura

You can be assured of a game all years round and in the summer, the warm gentle breeze means it is not to hot to play.

If you want to brush up your game, there are a few tennis schools around the island where you can hone up your skills or take on the local pro.

Besides municipal courts, many of the hotels also have tennis court where you can hire racket and balls.

For the spectator, this year's biggest tournament on Fuerteventura was the ITF's women's hard court tournament in March. Elsie Tamaela of the Netherlands beat Aravane Rezai of France 6-3 3-6 6-3 to take the $25,000 prize. In the doubles Beygelzimer (UKR) and Roesch (GER) beat Bachmann (GER) and Barios (GER) 6-3 6-7 (5) 6-4.
