Tefia's claim to fame is its
eco-museum which
provides a fascinating insight into how Canarians used to live years ago. Called La Alcogida, this open air living museum is based on the life of an old Canarian village. As you wander around, there are demonstrations of pottery, cheese making, lace making - there's even a carpenter and a blacksmith and the village grows its own crops. To help you appreciate what is going on in the village, you are handed a remote control unit and as you reach various numbered posts,
|
you type in the number on the unit and hear commentary in your own language. Apart from the museum, there is little else in Tefia.
