El Pozo Negro

It lies in a national park also known as El Pozo Negro.

There are a number of interesting small fish restaurants here and at weekends, it is extremely popular with Spanish and the air is heavy with the smell of barbeques.

A number of small fishing boats are dotted along the black sand beach.

This is usually held in May and brings farmers with their prize stock, cheese makers, artisans and other craftsmen together for the island's major artisan gathering. It regularly attracts crowds from all over the island.

It is in the waters off El Pozo Negro that many of the boats offering dolphin trips from Caleta de Fuste moor.
