| Jeep and buggy
safaris are a rough and ready and exciting way of exploring the island.
Going off road on one of these safaris means you can really explore the
Fuertevntura malpais - literally the badlands.
If you book on one of the organised jeep safaris you can sit back and relax and let the driver do all the work Or you can hire your own jeep from one of the man hire companies listed below. Buggy safaris offer a new dimension to off road exploring. In Caleta de Fuste, there is a five hour buggy safari that takes you over terrain to Pozo Negro stopping off at a cove for swim. Or you can skip the organised excursion and go on your own safari tour. Another form of safari is the trike tour. The trikes carry a maximum of three people although four can be accommodated and the trike can be driven by anyone with a driving licence.
|
| There is a taster
tour of about 69 kms either from Caleta to Betancuria and
back or from Corralejo to El
Cotillo. The regular tour lasts for
Democracy rules on these tours. There are a couple of different routes all about the same length and the group decides which safari to go for before setting off. All the tours have a maximum of six trikes on the tour. The trikes carry three people and if you are a family of four, there is a spare seat on the guide's trike.
