Oasis Park garden centre

This is by far the biggest of them all - a huge garden centre attached to the zoo at La Lajita. It can take a couple of hours to get around this garden centre which stocks everything from herbs to fully grown palm trees.

The garden centre is also a working nursery and with plants produced on site, prices tend to be keen although bought-in varieties are more expensive. There is also a fantastic pots and ceramics section.

The garden centre has a nice restaurant attached. It is worth remembering that five per cent tax has to be added to the prices shown on plants.

Follow the signposts for the zoo. Open 9am-6pm 365 days of the year.

Corralejo garden centre

Opened in 2006, the plant stock has been bought in and is competitively priced. It is n the last but one ring road roundabout before the port. Open Monday-Saturday all day.

Tefia garden centre.

The Tefia garden centre specialises in cacti and succulents along with trees, shrubs and palms and provides only plants which will grow well in Fuerteventura.

It is situated on the main road through Tefia on the La Olivia side. Look out for the sign pointing to a stone track. Open Tuesday-Sunday 9am-6pm
