However, a few miles out of Gran Tarajal is the white village of Las Playitas where the old fishermen's houses are covered with plants and bouganvilleas, the small beach is sandy and the sea is calm.

 From here you can view the Punta de la Entallada, an 18th century castle the top of which serves as a lighthouse.
